This week the informative planning commission took place in which all the political parties are represented and in which the question of the work license of the only unbuilt plot in the Second Montañar area was discussed.
The commission dealt with the latest technical reports on the construction of a restaurant-cafeteria on Ultramar Avenue, which concludes that the license is in force and the developer can build. So, as you can tell Xàbia.com, the steps indicated in the reports will be followed and the license, which was granted and was suspended while approved in a new General plan, is in force again.
An extraordinary plenary session will be convened next Wednesday to address this issue. Also in the same plenary session the suspension of the planning of the General Plan of 1990 will be approved, that is to say all the modifications that contradict with the new Structural General Plan (PGE).
The end of this rifirrafe between Xàbia (City Hall and neighbors) and the promoter is the construction of a restaurant on the seafront. It should be noted that the promoter has maintained at all times that he had permission from the General Directorate of Coasts to carry out this execution and build the business just like the rest of the neighbors have their home, «Since the intention is to give legal use to the last unbuilt plot of the Second Mountain». On the part of the neighbors, «With the construction of this restaurant the current beach model is altered, it is a magnificent rocky beach between the Playa del Arenal and the Cala Blanca which remains in the wild, with very little urban development ». On the part of the City Council, this construction breaches the idea of a new sustainable model proposed in the line of the new PGE of Xàbia.
