Next Saturday 13 in April, the fishing port of Xàbia will open its doors to offer a day of open doors to all citizens. Under the name XÀBIA MARINERA, the Fishermen's Association of Xàbia promotes a new tourism activity together with the Valenciaport Foundation (through the European project TOURISMED) and the fishing tourism company 'Trip & Feel', in order to open the doors of fishing activity to the citizen, to show the work and effort behind this job. It also contributes to the value of fishing products and fishing activity, and to recover the culture and seafaring traditions.
In this initiative and free day will be announced the experiences of fishing-tourism that are already underway in the fishing port of Xàbia.
The experiences of fishing tourism designed under the framework of the European project TOURISMED will be presented next Saturday 13 in April in the fishing port of Xàbia, in the framework of an open day aimed at all audiences, organized by the promoters of the project.
The day will start at 10: 00 hours and end at 13: 00 hours. Throughout the morning there will be various talks, educational activities for the whole family and workshops on culture and seafood gastronomy offered by the fishermen of the Brotherhood. The programming can be consulted here.
This initiative, together with similar ones that begin to emerge in the Valencian Community, is part of the CreaTurisme strategy of the Generalitat Valenciana, which seeks to enrich the tourist offer in coastal destinations and diversify the activity of the traditional fishing sector, promoting innovative and sustainable experiences .
