Quality and brand: Xàbia's proposals for FITUR 2024

January 19 from 2024 - 16: 09

El Xàbia Tourism department, Who heads Jose Marcos Pons, finalizes the details of the municipality's presence at the Madrid International Tourism Fair (Fitur) to be held next week at the Ifema fairgrounds.

Fitur is one of the leading international tourism events and it showcases the latest trends and innovations in the sector. For this reason, Xàbia will host an expedition headed by the mayor, Rosa Cardona, together with the technical staff of the department, in which they will hold different meetings with professionals from the sector for the development and implementation of the actions included in the Strategic Plan approved in November 2023.

The fair starts on January 24, the same day that the Board of Trustees of the Costa Blanca day will be celebrated. On that day, the presentation of Xàbia's new Brand strategy is scheduled, one of the actions included in the 2024 Marketing Plan and on which all future promotional actions will pivot.

This is a new brand strategy that wants to involve all sectors involved. A concept of a renewed, original, creative and innovative image in accordance with the values, identity and cultural attributes of the city. A city that is committed to sustainability, experiences, accessibility, digitalization and tourist intelligence.

The Tourism councilor has highlighted that one of the objectives that the government set was that "the plan had to be developed, so that it was a real project, that it would see the light in a timely manner" since it was one of the demands to recover the distinctive tourist municipality.

The Tourism offices achieve the Q of the ICTE

Furthermore, on the 25th, Xàbia will experience another of the great moments, which will be the collection of the Q recognition granted by the Spanish Tourism Quality Institute dependent on the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, at three Tourist info of the municipality (Pueblo, Puerto and Arenal). “It is an honor for us – said Pons – to receive this certification for our Tourism offices, which proves the very high level of staff and the work they do every day.”

For her part, the mayor, Rosa Cardona, has stressed the importance of this distinction and of working "on quality management systems that guarantee the comxicotetiveness of our destination and the quality of services." In this sense, she has announced that the next goal “will be to achieve the Q for quality for our beaches”, something on which the local government has already begun to work. Xàbia will have a counter at the Costa Blanca stand, located in pavilion 7 of Ifema, where the department's technical staff will serve the tourism providers that meet at the event (from Wednesday to Friday) and the public in general on Saturday and Sunday.

What proposals? Well, the same as always, there is nothing else...sun, beach, some paellita, wine...

The minimum that should be asked of people and institutions is a little coherence. We have been saying for decades that we want quality tourism. We all understand that this means tourism with high purchasing power, few people but with money to spend and invest in Jávea. It is not coherent to then ask for a train to Jávea, because quality tourism will not, in general, come by train.
It is not coherent to complain that sales and rental prices are unaffordable for javientes, because it is normal that the influx of quality tourism, much more so if we advertise at a European level, shoots prices up to astronomical levels. In Madrid, workers have not been able to live in Madrid for a long time, and they live in towns in the province or in Toledo and Guadalajara, so they are not even residents of Madrid and cannot enter with their modest cars without an environmental label. This is good? Well, clearly not, but being surprised at this point is stupid or hypocritical, because the process goes back a long way. You can't blow and sip. Development and affordability.
At least in Jávea, you can live in an affordable apartment, for example in Gata, and get to work in Javea without traffic jams. For a city worker this would seem like a total luxury compared to his life. Everything is relative and this is what it is.
It must be added that all the land on which construction has been made in Jávea was initially owned by Javienses, who became rich with its sale and construction, so it is not worth complaining now that the money ran out, and the property It is from a stranger or a foreigner. We continue with coherence.
This is a crude reflection of the situation with no intention of offending anyone, but I apologize if anyone might get upset.
