One of the topics discussed in the Mediterrània Xàbia Forum was the sustainable tourism fishing that presented Feel and Trip. Under the name, Fishing Tourism, 20 people, of five boats of the Fishermen's Association of Xàbia, one of threemall and 4 of trawling, join a new tourist activity. It consists of embarking people outside the crew on board the boats of the fishermen and teach them how is a day at sea.
A day with fishermen
In this new experimental activity, which is expected to start up for next July, will be open to a minimum of between 5 people and a maximum of 12. Tourists who embark on this adventure will live what is a fishing day and also eat on board the boat, the dish of the day made with the captured fish ranch.
Tourists will have to be 30 minutes before to attend the explanations of the sailors and know the risks they may have and know how to behave on the boat. Although the price of this tour has not been stipulated for the moment, it is expected to be between 60 and 120 euros per person.
On the other hand, the project has another aspect in which didactic activities are offered that take place in the port and people know what happens in the fish market.
Xàbia bets on a Sustainable Fishing Tourism
The head of services of the Fishermen's Office, Moisés Erades, stressed that Xàbia "It is one of the few municipalities that have professional fishing activity in the front row and this project is innovative, with a clear regulation, which wants to distinguish two things, tourism fishing and fishing tourism."
