The approval of the new General Structural Plan has taken another step in the last plenary session of this legislature held in the Javea Town Hall although this vote has not had the unanimous vote of all political parties.
Xàbia has a PGE from 1990 and the start-up of a new one is a necessity. For this, the procedures are already in the final phase and today the additional documentation to be incorporated into the General Plan file has been approved - a total of 144 favorable reports, according to the mayor - so that the Ministry issues the DATE (Strategic Territorial Environmental Declaration) . A vote that has only had the support of the government team, the PSOE.
The opposition, formed by Compromís per Xàbia, PP, CpJ and the non-attached mayor (Enrique Escrivá), for their part, have expressed their annoyance.
From the government team they have indicated that the new PGE protects 10 million m2 of developable land. An action that would paralyze the interests of some developers to build PAI's in Xàbia with hundreds of homes and thus stop making Xàbia grow horizontally.
However, from the ranks of the opposition, the PGE does not convince them. From Ciudadanos por Jávea they have denounced the change in land protection in the Cala Granadella and requests a pronouncement from the Ministry regarding this fact. you can read the full communiqué from CpJ.
From the PP, Compromís per Xàbia and the non-attached councilor have expressed the lack of citizen participation when creating this important document and agree on the lack of land for endowment infrastructures.
