Xàbia prepares the Three Kings parade and announces traffic cuts for the great occasion

On Thursday, January 5, the Three Wise Men from the East will arrive in Xàbia, as is customary from the high seas, aboard a fishing boat that will disembark at one of the docks closest to the Grava beach. His arrival is scheduled for 17:00 p.m., and will be previously announced over the public address system and with the firing of salvoes.

The mayor will be waiting for you on the pier, José Chulvi, and the Councilor for Fiestas, Kika Mata, to welcome and greet them before they get on their carriage to tour the municipality.

In the parade, in addition to their entourage, the fifths of 2023 and the youth commission of Fogueres will participate. As animation, you can enjoy the dances of the students of the Dance Academy and the music of the local entities Xirimitab's, Colla Portitxol and Banda del Centro Artístico Musical.

The uninterrupted itinerary of the parade will be:

  • fishing pier
  • Joaquin Sorolla Promenade
  • Adolfo Suarez Square
  • James I Avenue
  • Avenida Port (at the Asylum and the Thiviers neighborhood, rockets will be fired to warn of the location of the parade)
  • Alicante Avenue
  • Ronda Norte (at the crossroads with Roques street, the bells of the St. Bartholomew's Church to notify the entrance of the Kings to the people)
  • Prince of Asturias
  • Placeta del Convent (when the procession reaches this point they will also ring the bells of the Convent)

At different points along the way, the Pages will climb balconies to leave gifts. In addition, this year, the candies that the Three Kings will distribute will be gluten-free, in response to the request of the celiac association of the Valencian Community.

The Kings will greet both on the stage of Jaume I and on the square of the Convent. So that this long-awaited parade by the boys and girls of Xàbia can be held safely, it is forbidden to park in the streets of the itinerary from 14:00 p.m. and from 16:30 p.m. Jaume I traffic will be cut off (and progressively the the rest of the tour).
