Xàbia Democrática through its municipal spokesperson Óscar Antón will present at the plenary session town hall of Jávea, a motion regarding the reduction of the budget suffered by the Optimiza Project carried out by the Diputación de Alicante.
A project addressed to the political and technical authorities of the Town Councils of the province of Alicante in which there is a significant percentage of foreign residents.
The philosophy of the program is the interaction of activities and projects between the different municipalities, in order to optimize the scarce resources available to the municipalities for a subject as wide as that of the foreign resident.
The object of all these programs is the integration and improvement of coexistence of a foreign population that exceeds the 25% of the population of the province of Alicante. In addition to the programs carried out, the meetings between councilors of the foreign resident area have created strong links and commitment of collaboration and interaction between the different municipalities that make up the optimized network.
In the last meeting of the Optimiza Project that took place in Dénia, a reduction in the budget allocated to this program was reported, passing from 142.300 to 107.800 euros. This reduction entails the disappearance of subsidies to town halls, manconunidades and non-profit entities for activities related to foreign citizens.
To resolve the injustice that all members of the project optimize in the Marina Alta, they have proposed to present a motion in each municipality attached to the optimized network in order to elevate the following to the Plenary of the Alicante Provincial Council:
That the budget allocation of the 2014 exercise be reestablished and that in the next credit modification proposed by the Provincial Council of Alicante, a sufficient amount be provided to cover the programs that have been carried out so far.
Once the foreign resident's department has been provided, in accordance with the foregoing, it will proceed to approve the bases of subsidies to City Councils and non-profit entities for the following programs, mainly: Promotion and integration programs, advisory service and resident attention , voter registration campaigns and Spanish courses.
