The yachtsman from Club Nautico de Javea, Enrique Luján and his partner in the 49er class, Antonio Torrado, of the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja have been proclaimed Spain's champions of the 49r class, after the Championship played in Torrevieja this weekend.
The regatta was framed within the framework of the Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week that closed with a hard day, with wind of the 080º and 14-16 knots, intensity to which it added a short wave that has propitiated an extra work to the crews.
Thus, in the first position, entered the couple Luján-Torrado, who managed to win in 5 of the 11 mangas, other four were seconds, in a third and in the first fifth (which was the one that was finally discarded). Behind them were Andrés Barrio (RCN Gran Canaria) and Fran Núñez (CN Garraf), second and third were Luis Bugallo and Jorge Lorenzo, both of RCN Vigo.
Luján and Torrado form a couple in a joint project of the Club Nautico de Javea and the Royal Yacht Club of Torrevieja, together with the Valencian Sailing Federation in order to prepare them so that they can reach the highest goals they set. Either in the Olympic games of 2020 or those of 2024.
