As a result of these assistances, ambulance care was necessary on 71 occasions and on fifty occasions the bather had to be transferred to the Xàbia Health Center and/or the Regional Hospital.

Another important part of the service's memory is the aid and rescue of people at sea. The lifeguards helped 98 people in dangerous situations, of which 36 were in a kayak, 22 were on paddle surf boards, 23 were bathers on the beach, and another 13 people were helped while they were in their boats (for example dizziness, polytrauma).

These interventions in the sea occurred mainly in Portitxol (51 in total), in areas such as Cala itself, the Cap Negre, Cala El Pom, Cala Pallers and the island of the Discoverer. Another 24 in Arenal, “Minister Creek” and Segundo Montañar; 18 interventions were from Granadella (bay, En Caló, Cova del Llop Marí).

With a team made up of 45 people in the high season, the Red Cross's assessment of the season is positive, although they highlight that they have witnessed "a slight decrease in serious interventions and rescues compared to last season." But yes, they recognize that there has been an uptick in interventions due to jellyfish due to the presence of jellyfish on the beaches. They also consider that it continues the trend of other summer years with the popularization of the Cala Barraca or Portitxol, both on the beach itself and in the surrounding area, cause an increase in interventions and rescues in the area, especially for bathers and on board floating devices (kayac, paddle surf, scooters...).

After this meeting, the Beaches councilor, Juan Ortolá, has expressed his gratitude to the entire Red Cross team for “their good work taking care of all of us on the beaches of our municipality.” He has also highlighted the specialization of the entire Red Cross team to assist both on the beach and in rescues on the coast.

Finally, Ortolá has announced that the Department of Beaches together with the Department of Services and Tourism are already working on the preparation of an improvement plan for all the beaches and coves of the municipality for the next season.
