The viewpoint of Cap Negre is part of the Route Jávea Viewpoints, and it is one of the four capes of Jávea. From north to south, the four capes of Jávea are arranged as follows: first the Cape San Antonio, San Martín or Cap Prim, Cap Negre and Cabo de La Nao. Cap Negre is one of the quietest viewpoints, with less influx of public: it is likely that during your visit you will not come across more than 5 or 10 people, and some of them are probably neighbors doing their daily lives in that place. This is the postcard image that you can see from Cap Negre:
Next you have an index with all the points that we are going to deal with.
How to get to Cap Negre
The viewpoint of Cap Negre has access by car, like all viewpoints that are part of the “Route of the viewpoints of Jávea”. The Cap Negre is the point number 10 of this location map, so that you orient yourself and know where you are.
This is the way: following the Cap de La Nau road, when you pass the detour of the granadella, you have to turn along the road that enters the well-known Balcón al Mar urbanization. After approximately one kilometer crossing streets with names of famous musicians, we will reach Cap Negre.
You can leave the car at the same point where the asphalt ends and a path of stones begins. The road is cut by a chain and in its beginning there is an explanatory panel of what you can find in Cap Negre.
Why go to the Cap Negre viewpoint
Next, we explain the reasons to go to Cap Negre. Many opinions suggest that from there you can enjoy the best views of Jávea. Therefore, if you like photography, from Cap Negre you will take the best photo of Jávea. Also, if you are a lover of nature and tranquility, it is a wonderful place to find peace.
Of all the viewpoints, the views from Cap Negre are perhaps the most spectacular, according to the opinions of many visitors. Looking north you can see everything: in the background, the It montgó, and further on, the bay of Jávea. And aligned, Cabo de San Antonio and Cap Prim, the closest. The island of Portitxol floats on the calm sea (the weather is so good that you will most likely find the sea calm). Cabo de la Nao is not visible from this point, because it is behind us. The coast is steep, all cliffs. Take your time to enjoy the most impressive views of Jávea.
If we change orientation and look for the views to the south, we will realize that they are much less known, but also beautiful. The Cabo de la Nao appears when we look from the Cap Negre to the south.
A place to disconnect in Jávea
Cap Negre is one of the least known viewpoints. In fact, it is under-exploited and is a place where there is much peace. You can park your car and take a walk: in fact, to get to the viewpoint you have to go down a path surrounded by pine forest. At the end of the road there are seats. If you are looking for relaxation in Jávea, visit Cap Negre.
Cap Negre It is his name in Valencian, and means "cabo negro" in Spanish. It is named for the dark spots on the cliff walls. Beside the viewpoint of the tip of Cap Negre, two fishing paths meander that lead to the Tobacco and La Mina caves. Due to erosion, the coast has receded over the centuries and has given rise to the characteristic rock formations found in this viewpoint.
