The viewpoint of Cap Negre is part of the Route Jávea Viewpoints, and is one of the four capes of Jávea. From north to south, the four capes of Xàbia are: Cape San Antonio, San Martín or Cap Prim, Cap Negre and Cabo de La Nao.

Next you have an index with all the points that we are going to deal with.

Name's origin

Cap Negre is its name in Valencian, and means in Spanish 'black cape'. It is named for the dark spots on the cliff walls. Next to the viewpoint of the Cap Negre point, two fishermen's paths wind their way to the Tabaco and La Mina caves.

Due to erosion, the coast has receded over the centuries and has given rise to the characteristic rock formations that we find in this viewpoint.

The great difference of the Cap Negre viewpoint

Without a doubt, the best and most complete views of Jávea are those that can be enjoyed from Cap Negre. The almost complete orography of Xàbia can be seen from this point.

Entering a path of the cliff with a large number of Aleppo pines, you will reach your destination, one of the quietest viewpoints in the town, perhaps due to its location, so if you are a lover of nature and tranquility It is a wonderful place to find peace.

How to get to Cap Negre

The viewpoint of Cap Negre has access by car, like all viewpoints that are part of the “Route of the viewpoints of Jávea”. Cap Negre is point number 10 on this location map.

Itinerary

To access this viewpoint you must drive along the Cap de La Nau road. Past the detour Cala Granadella, you have to turn left, thus entering the well-known Balcón al Mar urbanization area. After approximately one kilometer crossing streets with names of famous musicians, and following the indications, we will arrive at Cap Negre. At the point where the asphalt ends and the path begins, you can leave the car to start the road to the final visit.

The views

Of all the viewpoints, the views from Cap Negre are perhaps the most spectacular, according to the opinions of many visitors. Looking north you see: in the background, the Montgo, and later, the bay of Xàbia. Cabo de San Antonio and Cap Prim are seen aligned.

The island of Portitxol floats on the calm sea (the weather is so good that it is most likely to find the sea calm). Cabo de la Nao is not visible from this point, because it is behind us. The coast is steep, all cliffs. Take your time to enjoy the most impressive views of Jávea.

If we change orientation and look for the views to the south, we will realize that they are much less known, but also beautiful. The Cabo de la Nao appears when we look from the Cap Negre to the south.
