Lions Club donates to Benitatxell Civil Protection rescue and resuscitation equipment and 4.700 euros

Lions Club has donated a Tetra radio station with a repeater function, a defibrillator, an oxygen therapy case, a spinal board for immobilization with the harness kit, a waterproof suitcase, and a donation to the Civil Protection volunteers of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. first aid kit, plus a check of 4700 euros.

The donation was attended by representatives of both solidarity groups, as well as councilors Jorge Pascual and Maite Roldán. The inclusion of these devices in the vehicles of Civil Protection volunteers will consolidate the municipality in one of the most solid in terms of the latest technology in rescue and resuscitation of patients. In addition, the registration of all digital and encrypted communications is guaranteed.

The mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Miguel Angel Garcia, has been very grateful for the important work of solidarity that both groups, Lions and Civil Protection, very dear in the municipality for being a benchmark. "With their example, they transmit values, especially to the younger ones, such as altruism, idealism, and bravery", has highlighted the munícipe.

Civil Defense volunteers

The work of Civil Protection is well known and valued by all the residents of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. The organization has been active since December of 2009 and every year it has become more essential. They are always at the foot of the canyon. Their work makes the neighbors feel more secure and protected. Volunteers of Civil Protection also have a good curriculum and training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers with oxygen therapy cases and resuscitative balloons. Also in cardiac resuscitation with automatic defibrillators that manage to keep the patient alive, in case of heart attack, until the arrival of the ambulance and health personnel.

"If you perform a series of actions that make up the so-called chain of survival, the use of oxygen therapy cases, along with defibrillators will be decisive in saving the lives of many neighbors until the arrival of the ambulance " highlighted Andrew Dawson, of Lions Club.

Lions Club will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year and 7 years of solidarity collaboration with El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. Since then, they have worked closely with the department of Servicios Sociales, and are always aware of the needs of the municipality. They are part of Lions International, the largest volunteer organization in the world. It currently has around 1,40 million voluntary members around the world, distributed in more than 45.000 clubs dedicated to humanitarian tasks in some 210 countries.
