The beach tennis will return to the Arenal Beach with the dispute of V ITF Xàbia Beach Tennis Tournament 16 and 17 days of June. This year, this sporting event climbs a step and will have an international character since players from all over the world and the best from Spain will participate, attracted by an important prize in cash for the winning couple that will be 2500 dollars.
During the presentation of this tournament, which took place in Javea Town Hall, the organizer of the same, José Bas, commented that "This year the best national players have confirmed their presence. In girls we will have players from the Canary Islands, Barcelona, Montgat and Girona in Xàbia."
Good tourist attraction for Xàbia
Being an international tournament multiplies the participation and, with Xàbia in full parties of Sant Joan, this appointment becomes a good tourist attraction for the municipality, since participants and companions will know the festive atmosphere.
The sports councilor, Vicente Colomer said that this year has raised the level to be of international nature, something that is very positive when it comes to publicizing this sport, relatively new, such as beach tennis.
Mayor, José Chulvi, stressed that it is a consolidated tournament "and that the Xàbia brand is visible in a more important way, it is always positive". The mayor stressed the important participation of the Department of sports that has turned to this event.
Eight tracks assembly
In the technical aspect, eight tracks will be installed. Six of the tracks will be for professionals and two for amateurs. On Saturday morning will be played the games of the sixteenth and eighth finals. In the afternoon, the quarterfinals and on Sunday morning the semifinals and in the afternoon the feminine and masculine finals.
A physiotherapy area will be installed, Bollard will be responsible for catering and the final party will be held in the fashion room of Arenal, Socco.
