New joy in the world of Xàbia sports after the Xabiero Sergio Grimalt was proclaimed, last weekend, Champion of the Valencia Community of Beach Tennis, in the singles and doubles category and Runner-up of the Community in the mixed category.
Grimalt traveled to Patacona Beach, in Alboraya, to play the finals of the XII Valencian Community Absolute Beach Tennis Championship, organized by the Beach Arena Club.
The one from Xàbia showed his great potential and won three medals, two gold and one silver for being the best in each of the categories.
In individual, Sergio Grimalt beat Diego Salinas 7-5, thus achieving first place. In the doubles category Sergio Grimalt and Jorge Esteve took the gold medal against Carmine Cinefra and Diego Salinas 7-6(7), 6-3.
In mixed doubles, the one from Xàbia and his team partner came in second place after being won by Leticia Cervera and Daniel Vivanco, who beat Verónica Blaubach and Sergio Grimalt 6-0, 2-6 [10-4].
