'The most beautiful town', by Juan Legaz Palomares

06 December 2022 - 06: 38

Xàbia continues to be news -for good-, not only at a local, provincial, national level, but also at an international level. Clothes do not hurt me when it comes to praising my dear Xàbia, even if they treat me as a fanatic, a fan, blind or exaggerated. But, recognizing that my praise is minuscule -also disinterested-, and with little or no advertising influence, I will not remain silent when it comes to expressing my admiration, my love and the affirmation of the wonders it possesses and that, not even the biggest detractors can deny.

Contemplating and narrating all the beauties of Xàbia, is not an obsession of this simple and humble admirer, but rather goes much further, because the prestige of this illustrious and distinguished Alicante and Mediterranean Villa has exceeded the borders of Spain, and has acquired renown international (although it already had it) as demonstrated by the prestigious world magazine National Geographic, after considering that among the most beautiful towns in Alicante, the great Xàbia stands out as first.

Xàbia.com publishes it in a reference from which I am enthusiastic and astonished, in addition to feeling very happy and content to read that the aforementioned International Magazine classifies Xàbia as the first most beautiful and beautiful town in Alicante.

Specifically, Xàbia, is the town that occupies the first place on this list. The magazine highlights the Cape San AntonioCala PortitxolCala Blanca and the historic center with the Church-Fortress of San Bartolomé, the  Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Soler Blasco and the Food Market. I don't think anyone is in a position to deny these incomparable cultural beauties.

Secondly, the publication of this specialized magazine mentions the port area, and recommends visiting its bars and restaurants to enjoy the local gastronomy.

Gentlemen Xabieros, this humble narrator lacks talent and wisdom to extol this wonderful town, but if you think again, the famous Magazine has come to leave me without arguments by including in its pages all the monuments that Xàbia treasures, in addition to the natural beauties of the which was endowed by the Creator. No one can and will never be able to deprive this distinguished town of the immense beauties and wonders with which it is endowed with which it delights us and gifts all of us who have the privilege of knowing and visiting it frequently and, of course, much more to all of us. the xabieros. It raises our morale and infuses us with a dose of spirituality, peace, concord and happiness to plunge us into an immense pleasure that we do not get tired of enjoying and admiring it,
because it stimulates us and revives us and takes away our sorrows and sadness (at least these are the comments that are frequently heard from the majority of visitors, tourists and vacationers).

If they want to accuse me of being exaggerated, I accept and admit it, I don't care, but no one is going to deprive me or undermine my love for you, Xàbia. And if not, I refer to the tests, there is the ratifying example of the National Geographic International Magazine. Yes, yes, Xàbia is, as a whole, "The Most Beautiful Town" in the province of Alicante. Without belittling anyone else, if anyone knows another town that surpasses it, tell us, show and expose its arguments and natural beauties.

  1. Citizen says:

What it lacks is to combine its apology with a critical and realistic look at the excesses, destruction, and mistreatment of its beauties.
The photo must be complete, one as aseptic and partial.

  2. Miquel says:

    Not pretty, SPECTACULAR!!
But the government that is ruling is tearing it apart and taking away the beauty that we have.
"They only see what they want to see" Chulvi's words.
And with that the urban corruption and the landscape destruction of mountains, cliffs.
We Xàbieros suffer every time we see a crane in La Corona, Portichol, Cuesta de San Antonio, Granadella or even on the slopes of Montgo.

If we do not end this scourge of corruption, Jávea will only be a mountain of reinforced concrete without a single tree, without parks and without a good infrastructure to withstand so many people in those chaotic summer months that all citizens suffer. Jávea is a town and a town will remain
    Less is more, but quality.
