El Town hall de Jávea has launched several actions to show its rejection of the oil surveys in the Mediterranean Sea. The government has granted authorization for this action to the oil company Cairn Energy to carry out surveys between the Valencian Coast and the Balearic Islands. In order to settle an allegation on behalf of the City Council against this Environmental Impact Study, the Mayor of Jávea, José Chulvi, has convened a meeting to the spokespersons of all the political parties of the municipality.
As explained by the first mayor, what will be done first will be to define an official position against this project and from there to plan actions to defend our environment and the sectors that will be worse off such as tourism and fishing. Today at 19: 00 h. all the fishing associations of the Marina Alta meet in the fish market of Dénia. In this concentration to which Chulvi will also attend, the concerns and doubts of this sector will be known and will also be incorporated into the municipal allegation.
Once the text is agreed the City of Jávea will focus on two lines to follow. On the one hand, the institutional line by which an extraordinary plenary session will be convened to collect the maximum number of adhesions to the complaint.
