Today San Antonio Abad, patron saint of animals, is celebrated. To celebrate this event, the fishing district of Duanes de la Mar hosts the blessing of animals on the seafront of the Grava beach.
Organized by Penya la Burrera, the event began after the mass celebrated in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto, in which the bread was also blessed and the images of Sant Antoni were handed over.
The blessing of the animals has had the participation of dozens of neighbors and their pets. In it, the presence of Khalan and Kosmo, the two police dogs of Xàbia, should be highlighted.
