One more year, World Cleaning Day is celebrated and in Xàbia, as has been customary since 2018, a day of cleaning and freeing the planet of waste is held. On this occasion, the event will take place on Saturday, September 16 in different parts of the municipality. This World Clean Up Day initiative has been joined by the Departments of Environment and Services of the Javea Town Hall.
The day is organized in collaboration with Amjasa, Civil Protection, Red Cross, Xàbia Excursionist Center, Club Náutico Jávea, Marina Nou Fontana, Rotary Club Jávea, The Isbjorn Collective, the volunteer groups Xàbia Bella, Lets do it.
As explained by the Councilor for the Environment, juanlu cardona, "along with Xàbia, only two more municipalities in the Community participate in this day" which has been divided into different areas of action.
Meeting points and areas to be cleaned
Specifically, the call has assigned a total of 11 public spaces, to be cleaned between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., with the following meeting points:
- La Plana, in the Recreational Area: commissioned by the Xàbia Excursionist Center.
- Cala Tangó, by kayak (Les Mesquides Soccer Field): by Ok Aventura and Siesta Advisor.
- Santa Llúcia, at IES Antoni Llidó: by the collective Xàbia Neta Entre tots.
- Calle Famorca and Fageca, at IES Antoni Llidó: by the collective Xàbia Neta Entre tots.
- River bed, meeting point in the parking lot of the nightclub: Red Creu managers.
- Yacht Club: Nautical Club managers.
- first Montañar, on the Triana Bridge: by the Jávea Rotary Club.
- Cala Blanca, in the Glorieta Guillermo Pons: in charge of the Llebeig Club.
- Cala Portitxol: by the Club Llebeig.
- Cala Granadella: by the Club Llebeig.
- Pinosol viewpoint, meeting point in Valerio Adani street: in charge of Creu Roja.

Cardona has invited all residents to participate in this cleaning day. People interested in collaborating and participating in this day by cleaning waste from beaches, parks, forests and rivers can register until September 14, through the QR form on the poster or at this link, or request more information by email: servicios@ajxabia.org or by phone at 616 159 323.
A spectacular initiative. With plastics and waste like used Latinas we are depredating the environment and we don't realize it. One observation: as with vaccines, better than Campaigns they are permanent actions, organized on specific days of the month. I go a lot through the orangelees and the Gorgos riverbed and find real deposits.

In my opinion, any citizen initiative, voluntary, whether paid or not, that has a beneficial objective for Jávea and for all of us who love and enjoy it, should be supported and applauded. It is a shame that people participate in something that the city council should do with our taxes. Less parties and firecrackers and more cleaning without shame. The main problem is that many will believe they have cleansed their soul with such an action when they are complicit in the deterioration of civil society that should be the true rulers of a country or locality.
It seems to me a shame that citizens should do something that the City Council does not do.

It seems very good to me, but aren't there cleaning services in Xabia that we pay with our taxes?
