Benitatxell requests a grant and orders a project to modernize the Mercat

The government team of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, led by the mayor, Miquel Ángel García, of Més Benitatxell, is determined to modernize the Mercat de la Plaça and make it more friendly. For this they have asked for a grant to the Ministry and have commissioned a study to define the necessary reforms and investments. The Mercat de la Plaça is a space of proximity that supplies its 4.130 inhabitants with essential products. It is a space that especially appeals to the residents of Benitatxell and that is strategic for the energizing, gastronomic and musical activities.

The term for the writing of the Specific Study, which will be carried out by the technical staff of the Pateco Trade and Territory Office, will be 8 months and will have a budget of 7.500 euros. The mayor, Miguel Ángel Garcia, has stressed that the 6 months of government have served to take forward some accounts that raise 5,9 million euros and are the first to be approved from 2017, given that in these years the City Council has worked with an extended budget.

The new budget affects transparency, control of the items and efficiency in municipal management. The mayor explained that for the first time in history, "All local associations have a municipal subsidy. The local government wants to strengthen the associative fabric and support the social, cultural, sports and solidarity work carried out by the groups."

García stressed that the aid that had been frozen for years has been updated and increased and the item of social services and attention to citizens.

The budget also reflects the government's commitment to employment, "The municipal brigade will be reinforced, two casualties will be covered in the municipal company Poble Net and in summer two students will be hired for internships that will be incorporated into the Tourism Department."
