February 18 from 2017 - 03: 38

A few days ago they were held in Valencia, the Municipalistas Days for fair financing. This meeting was attended by the Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi and Councilman Hacienda, Antoni Miragall. The main demand was to dispose freely of own resources to provide essential public services quality.

These seminars were chaired by the President of the Valencian Government, Ximo Puig, and attended by mayors and councilors in cities across Spain.

The focus of the presentations was local funding and obstacles that from the Government of Spain, is set to municipalities to dispose of their economic resources, regardless of whether it is sanitized or entities.

As expressed in the conference, because of the Law of Rationalization and Sustainability Administration, municipalities are strongly constrained from economic decision and have to stop providing essential services or undertake improvements to spend on what is dictated from Madrid .

Against this situation they have transgressed the main cities of Spain and dozens of municipalities in the meeting. The mayor of Xàbia, "The Government cannot continue to turn its back on the needs of the Town Halls that do comply with our obligations and have sound accounts. It is incomprehensible that we have remnants of treasury - both us and the Diputación de Alicante, for example - and we cannot spend them in improving people's living conditions because a law tells us that banks are first ”.
