Hello Christmas! With this message and coinciding with the beginning of Advent, the municipality of Xàbia is preparing to welcome Christmas with different activities. The lighting and Christmas decoration of public spaces will shine brightly starting this Friday night, December 2, when the official lighting takes place.
Likewise, the monumental nativity scenes prepared by the Association of Betlemistes de Xàbia will be inaugurated on the afternoon of Monday, December 5 (postponed due to the rain on Friday), at 19:00 p.m. This year the collective has worked on four different sets of Hebrew-style nativity scenes that will be installed in municipal spaces such as the Lambert Arts Center, the Municipal Market and -as a novelty- also the Local Police checkpoint.
Also in the tourist office de Duanes will have installed a costumbrista style nativity scene that represents Mary in the process of the Scheldt Pansa.
From the Department of Economic Development, with Ximo Segarra, in collaboration with the Merchants Associations Xàbia Histórica, Xàbia Port and Xàbia Arenal, have presented the different entertainment and leisure activities that will take place until December 17 in the three urban centers of Xàbia.
Programming Languages
- Friday December 2: Christmas lighting of the entire town.
Xàbia Port: Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December
- Christmas fair with crafts on the Joaquín Sorolla promenade, from 11:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m.
- storyteller. Christmas stories next to the monumental Christmas tree on the promenade itself. Both days at 11:30 a.m.
Historical Xàbia: Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December
- Christmas Fair: Trade and association fair in Plaza Celestino Pons, next to the Municipal Market from 10:30 a.m. to 18:00 p.m.
- Playground of 11: 00 to 13: 30 hours.
- Show 'Balls de Poble': at 17:00 p.m. it will start in the Placeta del Convent and will go through the streets of the historic center until it reaches the Plaza de la Iglesia.
- Poetry Show: on Sunday, December 11, the actor and comedian Pepe Viyuela will present his new show river of poetry in the Church of St. Bartholomew the 20: 30 hours.
Xàbia Arenal: Saturday 10 and 17 December
- blues festival: It will be on Saturday the 10th on the beach promenade. The Jazz Session of
German Elul Trio will serve as a presentation of the Arenal Blues festival to be held in March. The concert on Saturday the 10th will be at 12:00 pm on the Paseo David Ferrer. - storyteller dramatized 'Les Llums'; on Saturday 17, at 11:00 a.m., at the Christmas Tree on the Paseo del Tenisista David Ferrer.
The Christmas Crafts Fair that will take place in the Historic Center of Xàbia is open to the
participation of all local or regional entities of a social or charitable nature. Segarra has announced that the Red Cross, Aspanión, Amunt against cancer, Betlemistes de Xàbia and Amics de Thiviers have already registered, although the term is still open for anyone who wants to join. The Councilor for Economic Development added that in addition to the programming, you can also visit the market for the benefit of Cáritas, located at Carrer En Forn, 10, which opens on Friday afternoons and Saturdays in the morning and afternoon.
