Xàbia active transparency portal to make it more accessible municipal information to citizens

The councilor of Transparency and New Technologies of Xàbia, Ximo Segarra, presented the new transparency portal launched by the Town hall to make it more accessible and easier for citizens to consult all public information.

Easily locatable on the cover of the websites Municipal is organized into five blocks: one with all the economic and financial information (budgets, agreements, subsidies, City Hall assets or reports). Another on urbanism (with the current regulations and their modifications). A third party of an institutional nature that gathers the data of the public positions, their competences and rewards or how to contact them, the internal organization of the Corporation and its objectives, as well as the minutes of the plenary sessions once they are approved.

The fourth focuses on strengthening the virtual relationship with citizens, facilitating the location of news or linking to social networks from which doubts or complaints are addressed.

The last section includes all the regulations related to Transparency, a challenge within the codes of good governance to which the City of Xàbia has wanted to give weight and importance. That is why he created for the first time, a specific council and assigning it to the youngest councilor of the corporation.

The first mayor, José Chulvi, He was convinced that it is a right of citizens to have access to all this information, (although in some cases it was already available, it was not always easy to find or understand). "It is a way of being able to supervise the work of councilors, especially in cases with majorities as broad as the one that governs in Xàbia, and to contribute their constructive criticism to help us improve"Commented the mayor.

For its part, Ximo Segarra revealed that since the beginning of the legislature is working intensely internally, as shown by the fact that in these four months has passed from 6 to 40 of the 80 indicators that regulate the transparency indexes.

Segarra assured that "we have the will to fulfill them all" He also announced that in a few months there will be new developments with the incorporation of a new platform to make public data related to the contracting processes of the City Council.
