A family gets caught in their kayak next to the island of Portitxol

At 14: 30 hours on Sunday 1 September, rescuers from the Red Cross Jávea rescued a family that was trapped on the east side of the island of Portitxol de Xàbia due to the strong break and wind while sailing in a kayak.

It is a male of 36 years, a woman of 34 and a child of 10. The rescue was carried out with the rescue motorcycle and the lifeguard had to swim to them.

Subsequently there were new assists to kayaks that were in the vicinity of Cap Prim due to problems with the wind.

Drifting sailboat

On the other hand, during the weekend, another event also occurred. On this occasion, the place was the Grava beach. A sailboat, which remained anchored in front of this beach, had been released and was drifting to exceed the buoy area.

The Red Cross lifeguards who serve on this beach were responsible for advising Maritime Rescue to tow the boat before it ran aground on the beach.
