Tonight, the Citizen Security Unit of the Xàbia Local Police intervened in a fire that affected two vehicles parked on Via Augusta. Although the causes of the fire have not yet been determined, it is presumed that it could have been caused by a mechanical or electrical failure.
The fire, fanned by strong gusts of wind, spread to another vehicle parked nearby. Given this situation, Civil Protection has intervened immediately to control the fire and prevent its expansion, until the firefighters arrive.
During the intervention, special attention has been paid to the protection of nearby homes, as well as the trees and street furniture on the road, through wetting and cooling techniques. These measures have helped prevent further damage as a result of adverse weather conditions, especially intense wind.
So far, no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the fire to precisely determine its origin and possible responsibilities.
