Services studies the proposal of the Popular Party to eliminate the architectural barrier of Cristo del Mar

A few weeks ago, from the Partido Popular de Xàbia, they presented a solution to the architectural barrier on the Santísimo Cristo del Mar street. A proposal that the Department of Services has echoed and during this week, a surveyor has taken measures of access to the elevated part to study the viability of the PP project.

Councilwoman Services, Kika Mata, has indicated to Xàbia.com that for the moment "All the measurement work is being carried out to verify that this proposal is viable, that it is technically possible and that it complies with all the regulations of a ramp for the disabled, with the sufficient slope quota, etc."

Mata said that the government team was studying other proposals such as expanding the margin or creating access through the central part, "But they were not viable due to the fact that on the occasion of parties or an emergency, the route of Cristo del Mar becomes two-way, so the proposed projects were not viable."

Also, the mayor has acknowledged that the proposal of the Popular Party was not raised when this action was studied, "and seeing that it can be a good solution, we have started to verify that this option is possible and to execute it."
