Unit Community Prevention in Addictive Behavior Xàbia, with the grant of the Provincial Council of Alicante, will launch this October a series of workshops in classrooms to promote rational use of new technologies among students 5º and Primary 6º Xàbia.

This preventive campaign will be complemented by lectures psychologist responsible for the unit, Javier Costa, targeting mothers and fathers of these schools to raise awareness about the use of internet and mobile phones and give them an updated view of the main problems that may arise of abuse and provide guidelines to avoid them.

At the conference issues such as the advantages and disadvantages of using WhatsApp and other social networks among children, as well as risk factors and actions that can be developed in the family they will be exposed.

The councilor of Servicios Sociales, Pepa Gisbert, has sent a letter to all parents of students in that age group, inviting them to attend these conferences that will begin next week at the school Vicente Tena.

Gisbert has stressed the importance of preventive policies and the need to involve parents in these areas, while considered vital information about the type of addictions that may arise around technology products because they are generally unknown to be something very recent.

The workshops and conferences will begin on Wednesday, October 14 at Vicente Tena, in the morning for classes and at 16:30 p.m. for parents. It will continue on Thursday, October 15 at the Arenal, with parents being summoned on the same Thursday at 16:30 p.m.; on Wednesday, October 21, it is the turn of the Port de Xàbia school, also during school hours for children and at 19:XNUMX p.m. for parents.

The Trenc d'Alba will have workshops on Monday, October 26 and talk to parents that day at 16'30 hours while the Graüll 28 will be on Wednesday and parents are invited to the 19 hours.

The workshops will be closed at Mary Immaculate College on Friday October 30 and talk to parents is the day before (Thursday 29) to 16'30 hours.
