The Rotary Club Jávea will have some piggy banks so that participants who wish to collaborate contribute the will to help eradicate this disease.

About Polio

The Rotary Club has vaccinated more than 2.500 millions of children around the world, since they created their campaign against polio in the 70 years, making a better world for those affected thanks to the collaborations of all the citizens. Poliomyelitis is a highly infectious disease that usually affects children under the age of five.

More commonly known as poliovirus, the polio virus is transmitted from person to person, usually through contaminated water. The disease attacks the nervous system and, in some cases, produces paralysis. While the disease has no cure, we have a safe and effective vaccine that Rotary and its partners have used to vaccinate millions of children.
