Civil Protection of the Poble Nou de Benitatxell is prepared to improve its coordination and efficiency in the face of the summer season and that is why it carried out a simulation of mountain rescue and another of resuscitation in a community pool.
This type of maneuvers was chosen since they are usually the most common emergencies in the summer season. 5 local police, 3 civil protection volunteers, 2 Aquaesport lifeguards and three extras participated in both drills.
In the first operation, a person in cardiorespiratory arrest was rescued in the community pool of the People of Peace. The response time in locating the helper was only 5 minutes for the Local Police and 15 minutes for Civil Protection. In the second one, two missing persons with urgent need for healthcare were rescued in the Ruta de la Serp. One of them with symptoms of dizziness and the other with a fracture in the leg. The victims were located in just 5 minutes and marked with GPS coordinates for possible helicopter assistance. The action consisted of a first healthcare and transfer of the two people to a place accessible to the ambulance.
