The Popular Party of Xàbia has issued a letter in which it provides its point of view of the recently approved specifications of the garbage contract. A contract, which in his opinion, does not meet the needs that Xàbia needs:
The future garbage contract starts with a sheet drawn up by the socialist municipal government, without considering the proposals of the opposition, so no more speaking we hear better. The winner of the garbage service must work hard with environmental education to correct the unlawful behavior of a few and that are affecting us all.
After an outdated contract, unjustifiably extended, following the advice of a specialized consultant and with the current scenario, our question is: will the company provide the cleaning service we need? Well, in view of the demands of the municipal government in the specifications, perhaps not. In the specifications it is omitted to explicitly demand the improvements that cover the priority needs of Xàbia.
For this reason, the Popular regrets that the specifications mark minimums and that it does not go to maximums, that it is not detailed to expand the services that we have today deficient and that our needs are left to the taste of the companies. What the companies propose as improvements to these minimums will be scored in their favor. And we will run the risk that if they do not propose to improve what the neighbors demand, then that service will not be provided.
If we are looking for quality, it should be guaranteed to maintain a correct service on all streets even if the road surface is increased in the municipality; the cleaning of pressurized water should be guaranteed to remove dirt and urine, which with a single washing machine will be impossible to carry out, several are needed; more when from April to September it is being demanded that this machine dedicate 50 days to woodland irrigation. If we are in a cleaning and garbage collection document, what is the point of ordering gardening work.
The cleaning of the containers should also be guaranteed and expressly require that they be cleaned every week, even daily in hospitality areas, if not, as cleaning expectations will hardly be met.
The popular also miss the fact that it is expressly requested to perform the cleaning of sewage, scuppers, and ravines, prior to the rains, storms and emergency situations.
And what sense does it make, that the company needs prior authorization from the government to hire its own workers? Town hall; Or why a minimum number of workers is not set to guarantee cleaning services. There is so much to improve in the list of garbage, that we hope that it is the companies that take our concerns into account and propose improvements that guarantee quality and solve the current situation.
