Xàbia pool: the works continue, but how much more will you have to pay?

February 02 from 2023 - 12: 18

The works of the future municipal swimming pool of Xàbia continue ahead. The works are focused on the internal part of the structure such as the changing rooms. The construction management announced a few months ago that the pool could be finished at the beginning of April. Two months are away from that deadline for one of the infrastructures most in demand by the residents of Xàbia to be a reality.

The pool work has been the only one that has not been paralyzed due to the increase in the prices of materials. The company already requested, in its day, an increase in the budget without stopping work. The company accepted the Royal Decree of the Central Government on the exceptional review of prices in public contracts due to the increase in the cost of raw materials; the municipal technicians studied the request and accepted the request.

From there, the winning bidder must present the corresponding documentation justifying the increase in the price of materials for the final certification and the payment of the modified amount when the construction is finished.

Given this fact, the spokesperson for Cs Xàbia, Enrique Escrivá, asked in the last plenary session, about the status of the request for a price increase made by the company that is currently building the pool. An increase of 827.788 euros that, according to Escrivá, the winning bidder already requested before the war broke out in Ukraine, and an amount that would have to be added to the 4,67 million for which the company managed to be awarded the construction works of the local pool.

The mayor asked the government team to "clarify what will be the amount of more to disburse, because if the
Town hall accepts to pay the more than 800.000 euros, with the endorsement of the municipal technicians, it would be necessary to see from which budget items this money should be subtracted, since it is not foreseen in the municipal accounts”.

Consell de l'Esport and pool management

On the other hand, the spokesman for Cs Xàbia proposed that the Consell de l'Esport meet and discuss this issue of price increase "and thus open up participation." In addition, Escrivá stated that the Consell "should be the body that studies the different pool management options that arise, together with the advice of municipal technicians, so that the municipal pool offers the best possible service."

Does the pool also have jacuzzis and saunas?
Is there space to be able to sunbathe?
They have made a pool only for tourists and for comxicotetions but not for the neighbors, it is not a family pool that you can go with your children to spend the day under an umbrella and a towel to relax on bad days or when there is a bad sea, it is only a drawer with two holes and some covered benches and that costs 4 million just to exercise not to relax with the family, a pity that Jávea does not have land to be able to make an infrastructure such as a family pool with green areas where you can lie down and take the sun, not only with the family but also with your friends as a leisure area, unfortunate the Jávea pool project deserves much more than that shoebox.

Because Chulvi wanted a pool big enough to host comxicotetions from other towns. If it had continued as a local family pool it would have been finished long ago.

  2. Ignacio says:

They will abandon the work as they have abandoned the Auditorium. If they did it to a closed budget and those of the City Council responded with their patrimony, they would stop wasting and embezzling public money.

  3. Antonio says:

The thing about this municipal government is a parallel to the government of the nation, of course the community government is not wasted. Gentlemen of the government, if you don't know, or if you know more than you should and part of the citizens' money is being misled, towards non-declarable destinations, do yourself a favor and go away, it's okay to pay taxes to leave skeletons of buildings in Javea. That yes, to see if it is possible that they happen, before by the court to render accounts.

The problem, I think, is that of voting for undocumented immigrants, people you wouldn't even hire to run a pipe kiosk.
Voting for INCAPABLE people brings consequences. ALWAYS !!!!!!!!!

  4. Carol says:

    Hahahaha
But is anyone surprised by this work?
Chulvi leaves his mark on Jávea, a calamity that seems not to realize his absolute inability.
Well, nothing, to keep smiling and posing for events, that's how we are.
