February 23 from 2018 - 15: 37

In the plenary session corresponding to the month of February that took place on the night of Thursday, the Popular Party of Xàbia presented two motions. One of them referred to the light signaling of the main pedestrian crossings of urban roads. The popular ones, with Juanjo García as spokesperson, they asked that the Town hall take the pertinent measures in response to the various accidents that have occurred recently.

The PP pointed to attached to the letter photographs of other municipalities where they have carried out the installation of new lighting and signaling measures. With these examples, the Popular Party requested the City Council that after the approval of this motion "As many actions as necessary are carried out so that all pedestrian crossings of the main urban roads are bright, contain light signaling, both in the stripes painted on the pavement and in the vertical signs".

Before this proposal, Chulvi requested two amendments that were approved unanimously. The first one added to the motion, "to continue making improvements" and the second "a valued memory of the performance".

Prohibition of fishing for 'Dentol'

The other motion presented by the popular ones referred to the recreational fishing of Dentol, a fish of great quality. As explained by the popular spokesman, "The Consell has banned its capture so we propose that recreational fishing of this delicacy be allowed."

Given these statements, Councilman Vicente Colomer noted that "If this order has been placed, it will be because there will be scientific reports that support this prohibition". To which Garcia replied that the problem "is in the commercialization of the species".

The mayor proposed, before the ignorance of the motion, to be able to study it and that it was in the point of the agenda of the next plenary session. The agreement was unanimous among all the councilors.

Luminously signaling pedestrian crossings would be a great idea due to the lack of public lighting in many roads of this city and will avoid many misfortunes.
