It has happened again. The intent of the Generalitat Valenciana to articulate a common policy for our country, where the Administrations work in a coordinated manner in which information flows reciprocally, duplications and overlaps are removed and make better use of public resources ... it has been read in key offense by some provincial sectors.
Again, and it is embarrassing to review the cases, the Provincial Council of Alicante has been used as an organ of opposition to the Consell rather than as management entity. And so we from the beginning of the legislature. They are nine months of paralysis and isolation, private brawls, petty calculations of interest and a deaf ear to the mandate of society to restore dignity to the institutions and sense of service policy.
The decree of the Consell to coordinate tourism policies in the Valencia does not impair the management capacity of provincial or eliminate the different brands and tourist products of our territory. On the contrary, it is a text whose keyword is coordination.
It is that in a matter of strategic importance of tourism, the Valencians act together, that Administrations are coordinated, that a rational use of economic resources of all is made to maximize profit by reducing the cost of each parts that overlap and unnecessary duplication is eliminated and that among all consolidate our territory as one of the most important tourist destinations in the world.
What is the problem then? Well, the coordination, collaboration and flow of information is the opposite of the policy of isolation. That for some it is more comfortable to continue facing irresponsibly Valencia and Alicante to preserve their small quotas of power to get to work at once and in a transparent manner.
In fact the instrument to make sense of this decree, the Tourism Board Coordination is involved, among others, representatives of provincial and private sector actors, who have welcomed the text after meeting with regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer.
Even so, and so no one can feel that the text has not had his opinion, or deserved more analysis time, it has offered more time for further analysis before approval by the Consell.Pero we have to say enough . Enough to use the council as a barrier between Alicante and the rest of the Region.
It is among other things by that tortuous reading of the provinces as watertight and mutually hostile entities that our territory does not have the weight that would correspond to it in the whole of the State for demographic, strategic, economic and historical reasons.
Those who are reluctant to implement the Generalitat Valenciana policies to structure our Region and our resources, ask them to deepen in the text and comprobasen that no identity or any authority are at stake.
