February 23 from 2020 - 15: 48

There were no surprises and the forecasts were met with the favorites to win the final victory of the XXXI Volta a Peu, José Albi de Xàbia Memorial, Moha Rida Younes, in men, and Mª Isabel Ferrer, in women.

The first race of Circuit a Peu Marina Alta It passed on a splendid morning and with a radiant sun. The multicolored snake took emblematic places of the municipality xabiero. About 1.500 athletes participated in the queen test which began with some delay by having to close a crossing and with a minute of silence in memory of Javier Fuster, athlete of CC Garbi who died last week.

From the beginning of the race, the duo Moha Rida and Youssef Ahatach, of Dénia Corre, threw the peloton with a lot of rhythm. Together with them they endured during the first kilometers, Adrián Ivars and the Polish, Tomasz Marcinek. Behind were small groups with other famous athletes of the Circuit such as Carlos Cabrera, Víctor Pérez, Joan Gomar, Miquel Pellicer and others.

In women, Mª Isabel Ferrer was the great dominator of the test, taking advantage of the rest of the participants.

In the last kilometers, Moha Rida Younes released his clubmate and friend, Youssef Ahatach to enter alone, picking up the ovation of the crowd that crowded the finish line. Once again, Rida had won against her neighbors, with a mark of 32.10 ahead of Youssef Ahatach who entered with a time of 32.20, being third, Adrián Ivars with a record of 32.34.

In women, the winner was Mª Isabel Ferrer, from CA Llebeig Xàbia, with a time of 37.05, the second place went to Esther Fornés, from CA Cametes Pedreguer, with a mark of 39.44. The third position went to Sofía Booth, of CA Llebeig Xàbia, with a record of 39.53.

The participation of Pepa Valero, mother of José Albi, a young man in which the Volta a Peu bears his name, should be noted. Valero, very excited, after giving the starting gun, put himself at the end of the crowd of participants and crossed the starting arch. Pepa made 31km and was the first place in the Veterans E category, passing the finish line in 10 hour 1 minutes.
