Successful atmosphere and participation in the Volta a Peu Xàbia 2024 with Moha Rida and Mª Isabel Ferrer as winners

On the morning of this Sunday, February 25, the 26th edition of the Circuit a Peu Marina Alta. As usual, Xàbia has been the first town to host this great event that year after year brings together more runners, having broken the participation record with more than 1600 athletes from the different categories of the queen race with the Approved 10K and child tests.

Of the 13 races that make up the 2024 calendar, Xàbia has, for the moment, surpassed the number of participants compared to last year. And the fact is that, for the first time, the Volta a Peu a Xàbia-Memorial José Albi, organized by the Club Esportiu Llebeig, had the approval of the Royal Federation, so it was eligible for points.

After the official photos of the clubs, and with the clocks marking 10:00 a.m., a minute of silence was held within the three days of mourning marked by the Generalitat, as a sign of remembrance for the victims of the fire in the Valencia building. .

From there, the runners began the 10 kilometer route, practically flat and fast, which in this edition had some small modifications but maintaining the route next to the sea.

The race went off normally and without incident. Likewise, due to the three days of mourning, the test has not been able to have musical entertainment at the different points of the route nor has it been possible to present the trophies on the podium, which will be delivered at the Volta de Calp that will be next Sunday March 3rd.

In sports, the XXXV Volta a Peu a Xàbia-Memorial José Albi can be said to have stayed at home, in boys Moha Rida was the first to cross the finish line, with a time of 33:03, in a race that in the first 5000, he was controlling the independent Lithuanian, Freddy Ovvet who came second twelve seconds later, 33:15, with Antonio Soler (CA Llebeig Xàbia) being third with a time of 33:29.

The best in the Alevín category, in girls the independent Inés Sánchez Sánchez 0:04:19 and Jaume Blas De Gea (C Ginestar Atletisme Benissa) 0:04:11, in boys they covered a distance of 1100 meters. The Children's ran 1500 meters, where the Llebeig Xàbia athlete Anna Savall Mengual, 0:05:24 (CA Llebeig de Xàbia) was the fastest and Joan Alemany Pons (CE Dorsal 19 Pego) 0:05:02, the fastest .

The best to complete the 2300 meters in the Cadet category were Silvia Díaz Berenguer (CA La Nucia)
