The Circuit a la Marina starts again, and as usual, the starting signal is in Xàbia. In 2024, the big news that the local 10k has is the homologation of the race; the first of the Circuit. This was announced by the president of the Llebeig Esportiu Club, Madelane Powell, at the presentation of the test together with the sports councilor Toni Molina.
The 35th edition of the Volta a Peu Xàbia - José Albi Memorial will be next February 25 at 10:00 am. As for the route, it has had to be slightly modified so that it meets all the Federation's requirements. Powell stressed that it will be a completely flat course, with long straights, just 10 kilometers long, and that it will help the athletes make a mark. Likewise, there will be a homologation jury present, since there will be runners who participate in Xàbia to score for the National Championship.
It will, without a doubt, be a fast race that will continue passing through the most emblematic points such as running next to the sea, in the first Montañar.
The Xàbia 10k aspires, in this new edition, to reach 2000 registered adults and children. Registration is open on the Somesport website and individual registration can be made per race or for the entire Circuit, which this year consists of a total of 13 races. In addition, the Volta a Peu Xàbia will continue with its sustainable aspect, providing supplies without plastics and local products.
This popular race will be quite a party. As in 2023, the Club Esportiu Llebeig has arranged several musical performances to create a good atmosphere during the race.
For his part, the Sports Councilor, Toni Molina, thanked Llebeig for their great commitment in each of the events held, "a week ago we were with the granadella Trail and now with the Volta a Peu, all organized by the club.
