The xabieras, champions of Spain in handball beach, are honored at the City of Xàbia

The female beach handball team, belonging to the Club Hándbol de Xàbia was honored, on Thursday night, by the Javea Town Hall. In the presence of a large audience among relatives, friends and members of the municipal corporation, the young champions wore their gold medal and their trophy when they proclaimed themselves champions of Spain in the final of the national championship that took place in Laredo.

The strong applause were also protagonists in this act. First, the girls of the cadet team were in the mayor's office, José Chulvi, with whom they shared sensations and experience of each of the matches played in Cantabrian lands.

At the moment of recognition of his title, already in the plenary hall, with all the attending public, both the sports councilor, Vicent Colomer, as the coach Pep Hierro, the board member and father of one of the players, Juan Lu Cardona and the Mayor of Xàbia, they addressed some words to the champions.

Emotional words that extolled the great effort, work and enthusiasm with which they had lived the season and especially this championship of Spain. The four agreed on good teamwork and of course, in the example to follow that they have become. A team, highlighted the authorities, which has shown a good track record in the short time it takes, just five years.

Hierro, excited, thanked the collaboration of entities and relatives and made mention of the other teams of the club that stayed at the doors of getting also prizes.

Undoubtedly, the female cadet team of the Hándbol Beach Club has become a benchmark. Congratulations xabieras!
