This weekend the Spanish Beach Handball Cup was held in Barbate, a comxicotetion in which the best teams in Spain from the previous year participate. He Club Handbol Xàbia it displaced the children's, cadet, youth and senior women's teams that had different luck in the tournament.
During the first day the group stage was played, where the Xàbia teams managed to win all of them. Saturday began with the senior who played against the European runner-up (and final champion) of this year and was two points per set away from giving the surprise, in the afternoon the quarterfinal qualifiers began, in which the cadet fell and the youth team, for its part, the children team eliminated Pinto and the senior team eliminated BMP Sevilla.
The comxicotetion continued with the children's semifinals, in which they won again 2-0 so they reached the final against Carboneras, in which they won again 2-0 in a great match for the girls from Xàbia that they won the first set with great solvency and knew how to play the final minutes of the second very well. In addition, the MVP of the final was taken by Martina Sapena. This team has a lot of projection for the future, so it will surely continue to bring joy to the Xàbia club.
On Sunday the senior semifinals were played, where the other Spanish European representative lost against URCI Almería and remained to play for third and fourth place, where they faced Carboneras, winning the first set and losing the second by two points, reaching the tiebreaker. in which he lost 5-4.
The next tournament is in Nazaré (Portugal), where they hope to do well to continue in the elite of Spanish beach handball.
