Moorish troops invade Xàbia

The festivities of Moros i Cristians de Xàbia continue with their program of events leading the commemoration of the battles that were fought during the Reconquest. Numerous public crowded on the Duanes de la Mar promenade to witness the Moorish Landing where the arrival of the Muslim troops to the Xabieras coasts was recreated.

Although this year, this act has been without arcabucería, the Christian troops defended their territory, from the Grava beach, with firing of rockets and with the traditional canyon avoiding that the Moor side will arrive at the coast.

Subsequently, the focus was on Paseo Jaume I where both sides played a fight on the occasion of the embassy and surrender of the castle. The Christian flag-bearer handed over the key to the castle to the flag bearer, with which Xàbia becomes Muslim territory.
