Since 2019, the Plaza de la Iglesia and Plaça de Baix have not had the traditional bullfighting session. After three years of hiatus due to storm Gloria and the situation of the coronavirus pandemic, the festivities in honor of the patron saint of Xàbia, Sant Sebastià have once again felt the festive atmosphere.
The music, the gunpowder, the joy and of course, els bous al carrer, have filled the historic center of Xàbia and in particular, the surroundings of the Church of St. Bartholomew.
The first bullfighting session of yesterday Friday afternoon had a great atmosphere and public. The surroundings of the Church were, and will be, during this weekend, the meeting point and the center of the local festival dedicated to the patron saint.
You have to seek the vote of the brainless who need an aberrational distraction like this to stay in a municipal government that can only boast of satisfying this type of people who only think about revelry, parties and events like this. It is evident that prohibiting these acts, although it pains us to say it, would be political suicide, which indicates the cultural and moral level of the electorate at all levels.
I visited Javea as a tourist and I loved it but seeing this barbarism disappoints me, and I don't want to return, how can they allow this to happen, who authorizes this heartbreaking event to take place with children watching, what a shame
