The Xàbia Handball Club participated with four teams in the Spanish Beach Handball Championship held at the San Juan beach in Alicante. The expedition, commanded by the coach Pep Hierro and his assistant, Pedro García, was formed by two male teams of cadet and youth category and two women's teams, cadet and youth.
During the first phase of the championship, the youth teams were not very successful and on some occasions, unlucky, which caused them to not be able to access the final phase.
Meanwhile, the female cadet set of the Tinglao CH Xàbia fell in the quarterfinal round of the Spanish Championship against the City of Malaga in the final dessert, by the score of 0 to 2.
In the first round, the xabieras did not lose their faces to the game, stopping the great offensive game presented by Malaga. The result, after the 10 minutes of play, was 16-23.
In the second set, the girls led by Pep Hierro had to risk, they had no other left to overcome a game that was put too uphill. The xabieras competed against a great team although they lost to 13 – 14. A marker that prevented the girls from Tinglao Xàbia from moving forward in the tournament.
As for the male cadet team, the triumph on the third day of the group classification was not worth it at all, since the City of Malaga closed all its matches with victory, preventing the pass to the round of 16 for the Hemeroscopea kids Xàbia
From the Club Handbol Xàbia thank all the sponsoring companies as well as the Town hall for making possible with their help the presence of their four teams in the Spanish Championship: The two youth teams and the two cadets.
Now comes the time for rest to, in just one month, begin your preparation for the track season.
