El Mayor of Jávea and provincial deputy, José Chulvi, has shown its satisfaction with the agreement reached with the Provincial Council, through the Covenant of Mayors, an agreement that will allow Xàbia to benefit from an investment of 150.000 euros in works to improve energy efficiency in public lighting in Aduanas del Mar.
In this area, it is planned to replace the existing elements with LED lights of low consumption, which will mean a saving of 70,88% for the municipal coffers.
Thus, José Chulvi has explained that through the Provincial Plan of Energy Saving and the Alicante Greenland Project "the municipalities assume the commitment through the Covenant of Mayors to get involved and commit to the Environment".
The mayor of Xàbia has explained that the investment of 150.000 euros, of which the Town hall only has to cover 5%, which today materializes "must be added to last year that was initially 120.000 euros in works to improve energy efficiency in municipal buildings, so that during the current term and thanks to the agreements reached in Diputación, Xàbia has achieved 270.000 euros, invested in the modernization of public lighting and reduction of energy consumption"
