The xabiero, Héctor Buigues, is the new director of the Benitatxell music band

The Poble Nou of Benitatxell put the finishing touch to the present edition of Santa Cecilia with the concerts of the Children's and Youth Instrumental Group on Friday afternoon, and that of the Santa Maria Magdalena Musicomunicipal Group on Saturday in the church.

The band offered an excellent concert with which he announced the new director, the 'xabienc' Héctor Buigues, who lived his first Santa Cecilia with the Poblera group.

During the break, they introduced themselves to the new additions to the band: the saxophonist María Buigues, trumpeter Joan Bertomeu and percussionists Juan Buigues and Manel Segarra. Likewise, the mayor, Miguel Ángel García, and the Councilor for Culture, Víctor Bisquert, delivered some emotional words about this party.

The first mayor valued the work carried out throughout the year by musical associations and "The perseverance and sacrifice of leaving aside personal or family moments to devote to music." He also had words of thanks for the Municipal School of Music, both for teachers and students, "Because what they do is continue to nurture and create a quarry to walk towards a better future."

Finally, Garcia thanked the cooperation and collaboration between all associations for the organization of this party and asked “Even more union if possible for the realization of more concerts and events. I am convinced that it can be achieved and that it can enhance the level of brotherhood ”.

For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Victor Bisquert, stressed the importance of this act on a personal level. "He is one of the most important since I am a Councilor for Culture, because above all I am a member of a local association and, above all, I am a musician."

Bisquert extolled music as an art “That improves the affective and communicative links between neighbors” and that allows “Live the present with more joy”. Likewise, the person in charge of the area also thanked the involvement of Colla La Llebetjà, the Parochial Choir, the School of Music and the band for the work done, with special mention to the Group of Danses Morro Falquí, who have joined this year with a Sample of traditional dances.
