The PP of Xàbia explodes against the Government of Sánchez and claims the debt for the temporary Gloria

24 October 2022 - 13: 48

The Popular Party candidate for mayor of Xàbia, Rosa Cardona, has presented this morning a series of widespread complaints from his party in the region towards the management of the Central Government in a meeting with the Popular Party deputy for the province of Alicante, César Sánchez, and the coordinator of the PP in the Marina Alta, Arthur Pocket.

Cardona has denounced that the General State Budgets for 2023 "are the worst in the history of Xàbia and the entire Marina Alta" and that they do not contemplate "any of the most important projects that the town needs and in general the Marina region High for its social and economic development”.

"The accounts of the State completely forget about this municipality and the entire region, with the approval of Ximo Puig, who is unable to make himself heard in Madrid", lamented the xabiera spokeswoman.

“It is urgent to protect the coast so that the storms do not destroy it”

Cardona has given as an example of a project "necessary and forgotten by the government of Pedro Sánchez" that of the regeneration of the coast. “It is urgent to protect the coast so that strong storms do not destroy it”, he pointed out. In this sense, he has claimed from Pedro Sánchez the debt of the Government with Xàbia for the aid of the temporary Gloria.

He recalled that the Government "will not bring investments for the Ambolo cove, which also needs urgent action as it has been closed to the public for years due to the high risk of landslides." "The government is not fighting for the protection of our coast and neither is Ximo Puig working to reverse this situation when, both Xàbia and the Marina Alta, we live from tourism and the coast", he lamented.

«Xàbia will continue without connecting to the AP7 because there is no investment for roads»

In terms of communications, he has said that Xàbia "will continue without connecting to the AP7 through an access through Gata because there is no investment for roads." "They corner us in terms of mobility and communications and many businessmen go outside the municipality to open their businesses."

He has also denounced the lack of investment for the Civil Guard barracks and has demanded more agents. “We see how the Government of Sánchez ignores us without Puig exercising his function as president of the Generalitat. He does not have the capacity to influence Madrid to defend this municipality”.

In this sense, he wanted to highlight that the most important investment “is coming from the Diputación de Alicante, with Carlos Mazón at the helm and I give you data. The territorialized expenditure of the Provincial Council for Xábia from 2019 to 2022 has been 6.780.000 euros. In the year 2022 it is 1.700.000”. This has translated into different investments, as he explained, such as "social spending, cultural activities, promotion of sports, support for the productive sectors and the consumption bonus, endowed with €140.000 to promote local commerce".

PP Marina Alta: "We will continue to be the worst communicated region in the province of Alicante"

For his part, the regional coordinator of the PP, Arturo Poquet, has criticized that the PGE of 2023 "are the most humiliating in the history of the Marina Alta". "It cannot be that one more year they leave out such important projects for the region as the Tren de la Costa, for which there are only 142.000 euros, when it is an essential infrastructure for the connection between the north of the province and Valencia".

He has announced that the Popular Party will present two amendments to demand from the Government 55 million investment to execute this infrastructure in the Gandía-Oliva-Dénia-Alicante section. “We will continue to be the worst communicated region in the province of Alicante”, he has settled.

“The only serious project that we know of is the one being carried out by the Diputación de Alicante with the tram Denia- Gandia. And we trust that it will be the Generalitat, with Carlos Mazón at the helm, that will finally execute it”.

Poquet and César Sánchez have also reported that investments worth 2 million euros have been claimed via amendments for the recovery and regeneration of the coastline of Calp, Benissa and Altea.

Sánchez has also emphasized the lack of infrastructure and recalled that the PGE does not include investments for the Parador de Xàbia.
