The last plenary session of the current legislature includes in its agenda the definitive approval of the General Structural Plan of Xàbia. After almost 30 years, the municipality will present a new urban structure. A promise that made the socialist team and wants to leave fulfilled before the next election, the May 26.
Although the new PGAU of Xàbia contemplates less construction as commented by Isabel Bolufer, councilor for Urbanism and José Chulvi, Mayor of Xàbia, from the opposition do not see that this Plan meets the prospects of the town for the next 20 years.
The Popular Party criticizes the fact that no land has been planned for public use, "the population is going to grow and Xàbia, with this PGE no land is contemplated for public infrastructure". In addition, from the popular formation point out that "according to the General Plan, the Town hall will have to compensate the projects and licenses requested and not granted up to now in plots that will no longer be developable".
From Podemos they show that the approval of the General Structural Plan "It is bad news for the environment. 300 new homes a year during the next 20 years. So are the almost 3 million square meters, or 425 football fields of developable land, including the Guard lands".
The purple formation states that it is a continuation plan of the 70 years in which there has been no citizen participation for its creation.
Today, in the plenary session, once the approval of the General Plan has gone forward, it will be raised to Conselleria so that it can be validated if it complies with the entire legal framework.
