The new corporation that will be established in Poble Nou de Benitatxell next Saturday has set itself sustainable development as a priority objective and finally carry out a General Plan that guarantees the orderly planning of the municipality in the next 20 years.
One of the first decisions that the mayor, Miguel Ángel García, will make will be to fully present the new General Plan to the public for the second time. The Consell has reviewed the first document sent by the council and has made significant changes.
One of these changes is to reserve 11.000 square meters of land for educational use to build a secondary school. It is a modification introduced by the planning department of the Ministry of Education. This land will be on the right bank in the direction of entry from Xàbia, that is, close to the urban center.
The acting Councilor for Education, Jorge Pascual, explained that the priority now is to promote the reform and expansion works of the María Magdalena public school, works that have been included in the Building Plan of the Ministry of Education. But, the mayor indicates, in planning for the next 20 years it is essential, as the Ministry points out, to reserve land for a future institute.
"After completing the modernization of our public school, we must consider increasing the public educational infrastructures and investing in a secondary school. The modification that the Department has introduced in this regard is very successful. We must aspire that the youth of El Poble Nou can complete your studies in your municipality ", the mayor explained.
Improvement of access and bypass
Meanwhile, the Roads department has ruled out the creation of a south detour that avoids the urban area. It involves great technical difficulty. Yes, a southern connection with the road to Moraira will be considered in the General Plan, but by existing roads owned by the municipality. This avoids creating new impacts on the territory. In addition, there is a northern ring road that will connect the CV-740 from the entrance from Teulada with a new roundabout that will be built in the area of the golf course. This detour will have two intermediate roundabouts that will facilitate access to the Camí de l'Abiar and the urban center.
The new General Plan maintains the tertiary area between the Cansalades roundabout and the sports area. It will include a catalog of protected natural elements (monumental trees will be inventoried and preserved) and cultural heritage. The riuraus, traditional architecture and archaeological sites will feature.
The mayor of Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Miguel Ángel García, has stressed that this new General Plan should facilitate the completion of basic infrastructures, such as educational ones, and a sustainable and orderly growth, without causing new 'wounds' in the territory. "It is important that this planning tool, which is for the next 20 years, allows us to advance in sustainability and in preserving the landscape and heritage wealth of our municipality", has stated.
