The Assembly of the Circle of Podemos Xàbia presented a year ago an instance to Javea Town Hall in which was mentioned the state of abandonment that presented the bed of the River Gorgos. During this past year there has been no response nor, what is important, has been intervened in the river bed.
Consequently, the Assembly has opted to publicly denounce the situation of abandonment that the river currently has. More taking into account that with the arrival of autumn is usual to experience major rain episodes in the municipality. That is why they ask that actions be taken to cleanse and thus avoid flooding problems.
The existence of many cañares in the entire channel and in the bridges themselves is a threat, since they can block the mouth when the river comes down with a high flow caused by heavy rains.
We can denounce the existence of a lot of dirt, plastic, paper and glass, remains that unfortunately can end up in the sea. They also mention the margins that are deteriorated, in some stretches they are non-existent and in others the same plots full of rubble do wall.
It is for all this that they request an urgent meeting between the Town Hall of Xàbia and the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation to look for solutions. In addition, they ask for information about the spillways and drains, their planning and above all a study on the areas that are flooded now and that were not flooded before.
If the City Council has to tell you how the riverbed is - full of cane fields, garbage and plastics - it is that nobody in the City Council has eyes on its face. Or do they not look where it does not interest?
Many of Jávea's shortcomings in terms of cleanliness are, in fact, the fault of the negligence of the official bodies, but not everything is their fault. The botellones, that yes they had to stop already of a time, putting high fines, which, in addition would be very beneficial for the municipal coffers, leave an enormous amount of garbage and, what is worse, of broken bottles, especially in the First and the Second Mountain, with the danger that this entails for those who bathe in those areas. The cleaning services pass and clean, but it is impossible for them to remove the small pieces of glass from the broken bottles. I do not know how wild are those who throw their helmets to the ground, I guess for fun, they leave the bags and the remains of everything they have consumed, when they have extra containers to throw them away. I guess they will all be young, what an education they have been given! And what a environment they are going to inherit! But in these cases, the ecologists do not say a peep, nor does it seem that they do not even think of taking a garbage bag and every day take a tour picking up what others leave (which I do every day at the 2º Montañar, where I shower). They will say that this is what the City Council is for! If we all put a little on our side, another rooster would sing to us.
