The City Council will request the disqualification of the company that was going to build the Auditorium

El Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi and the councilman of Culture, Quico Moragues, have appeared this Friday morning to explain the steps that the Town hall to disable the company (JOCA) that had to build the Auditorium.

The report of the Consell Jurídic Consultiu is presented guaranteeing that this file is done correctly, they already have the resolution that endorses the contract and the procedures of the city council and now they will proceed to the effective act of resolution with the company JOCA.

The consistory seizes also the bond of about 100.000 euros, "From now on the city council will begin the file requesting to disable said company so that it cannot contract public works. We do not want another town to have to suffer the suffering that Xàbia has suffered in a project that was exciting and was a historical demand. The town hall is not going to stay with folded arms, we would have liked the auditorium to be in the normal scheduled course but the breaches cannot go unpunished ", indicates the first mayor.

From now on, the city council will open a new tender because the law does not contemplate that the second company may be the contractor. "We will review all the specifications, all the protection measures allowed by law and in Xàbia who is present to do so with a serious and realistic project, otherwise they will have the town hall in front and we will not allow them to make fun of the municipality", highlighted Chulvi.

The mayor has not set deadlines but has indicated that they want to tender as quickly as possible, "but we must meet the deadlines that the law determines. "

Pending works

Other issues addressed by the mayor were the paralyzed works making reference to the Puente de Triana, which he has highlighted, "next week we can specify more data, for the moment we are in a technical discussion".
