El Javea Town Hall held on Thursday night the plenary session corresponding to the month of November in which the approval of the one-year extension of the garbage contract with the CESPA company and the approval of building a new sports pavilion was carried out .
The construction of the new sports facilities would be carried out within the Provincial Works Plan. It is a new pavilion that would be located in the Frechinal area with a budget close to the 2 million euros.
The sports councilor, Vicente Colomer, requested the implementation of sports specialties and a change of design of the pavilion in accordance with the new needs program signed by Jaime Roqueta, municipal technical architect and Enric Morera, municipal architect.
The estimated valuation is 3.666.665 euros with a subsidy of 55%. The project would consist of building the new pavilion where the uncovered track is now and, in addition, building an uncovered track behind the pawl, the vote was unanimous.
Renewal of contract with Cespa
The approval of the extension for one more year was also carried out with the company responsible for the garbage and street cleaning service, Cespa, for an amount of 4.195.462 euros.
Councilman, Juan Ortolá, made mention of the PSOE's commitments during the last electoral campaign, "Your commitment was to municipalize the garbage service as Amjasa, and now you have made numbers and discard municipalizing the garbage service ". Ortolá questioned whether a two-year extension was necessary.
For her part, the Councilor responsible for Services, Kika Mata, responded that from the government team "You want a contract that Xàbia deserves and we are studying all the details." The mayor, Óscar Antón asked about the reasons for one more year of contract, to which Mata replied that with the change of the new law, "The project is being drafted by a consultancy, although the hard work has been done by municipal technicians". Mata added that the specifications are being finalized to renew what is one of the contracts of greater volume of the City Council, a technical document which is working a year ago to incorporate all the growing needs detected in the municipality and the most modern technologies in cleaning matter. "We have almost ready but we prefer to extend the contract with Cespa for a few months to be able to close it quietly and reviewing everything well"said Kika.
Kika Mata explained that another consultant was chosen first "and seeing that they did not advance we looked for this company that had good references." The consultancy costs the 14.000 City Council euros.
From the popular ranks, the councilman Juanjo García, commented that they did not agree with the first extension and neither with the second, "there has been time to prepare a specifications".
The debate closed the mayor putting in value the work of the councilor of services and his department for the effort they have done, seeing in other municipalities the contracts for solid waste collection since they have to have the maximum security to be approved.
The approval counted with the votes in favor of the PSOE, Compromís and Ciudadanos for Jávea and the abstentions of the PP and Xàbia Democrática.
