The Xàbia City Council proposes to allocate 3 million euros to important projects

El Javea Town Hall will hold an extraordinary plenary session on Tuesday in which an important modification of credits will be put to a vote to finance a battery of draft projects as well as a new employment plan.

The modification of credits of 3 million euros proposed by the council includes an asphalting plan worth 5 million euros, the reform of the Thiviers and Freginal playgrounds and the construction of the first collector of Montgó , the employment plan, among others.

Regarding the public works included in this economic provision, the 2021 asphalt plan, budgeted at 1 million euros and which will serve to improve traffic safety on numerous roads both in urban centers and in the widespread.

Another important infrastructure that will be tendered with this item is the Montgó collector 3, a pipeline of 1.192 linear meters that will run along Camí dels Castellans (up to Cáceres street) and part of Ángel Domènech Avenue will allow some 900 homes to be connected to the sewage network.

Also included in the investment batch is the work to remove the foundations of the old Triana bridge, the comprehensive reform of the Thiviers and Freginal playgrounds, the construction of a toilet block in the Social Center or the acquisition of one of the windmills of The flat to incorporate it into the municipal patrimony.

As explained by the Councilor for the Treasury, the investments will be financed out of the balance of the City Council's treasury, a formula that allows the temporary suspension of the spending rule authorized by the Government until 2021 as a result of the economic crisis linked to the pandemic .

Segarra has valued this gesture very positively, since municipalities such as Xàbia, which are in good economic health, will be able to unlock their funds and take advantage of them to carry out much-needed projects and lead actions to reactivate the local economy in these sorely lacking times make.
