C's Xàbia proposes that the City Council stop charging the opening fee to establishments

In the ordinary plenary session held in the xabiero consistory this week, the spokesman for C's Xàbia, Enrique Escrivá, proposed to the municipal government that it stop charging the opening fee to new establishments, through a bonus in the regulatory ordinance that suspends the charge for opening licenses, "In order to do our bit and provide opportunities to those who decide to start and establish a business in Xàbia".

In Escrivá's opinion, "It would be more than viable", since according to the General Account approved by the Corporation, the collection for the collection of opening licenses, barely touches 0.2% of a municipal budget that exceeds 30 million euros. An amount that barely exceeds 73.000 euros and that would no longer be received by the municipal coffers, but that "It would have a multiplier effect for the economy of Xàbia, in terms of job creation and promotion of the local commercial fabric, to try to ward off the specter of the destruction of employment, wealth and investment in Xàbia."

In the same way, the orange councilor has pointed out the need for the Town hall launch, in collaboration with local associations and companies, a consumer voucher campaign, with a financial contribution from the municipal budget, "To launch a message of univocal support for our local businesses and a firm commitment to promoting the circular economy in Xàbia".

A measure that together with the previous one, the xabiero mayor has wanted to transfer to the Plenary of the Corporation to be dealt with and jointly agreed by the Consistory, with associations and businessmen, "For having claimed by the
Valencian trade to different Administrations and that is working in those municipalities where it is being implemented ”.

So, with local trade consumption bonds, any neighbor can purchase a bond for an amount and does not have to pay for 100% of its value, the remaining part being provided by the City Council, through the merchants and business associations locals who want to join.

An initiative, according to the orange councilor, "More necessary than ever, with which to encourage local commerce, thus giving a break to the pockets of many xabieros", especially thinking about the difficulties and uncertainty that many people and families who depend on ERTE, as well as companies and freelancers who observe how their billing levels begin to fall and that "With this measure, both neighbors and businessmen, would have a small oxygen balloon with which to make a last sprint to face these last months that seem so hard."

Finally, the spokesperson for Ciudadanos has been interested in the status of the processing of the adjudication of the urbanization works of the Catarroges industrial estate, a project that is currently on standby, and which is clearly necessary, "Given the need to actively promote the creation of a service sector with a diversified and sustainable offer, which turns Xàbia into an economic engine due to its attractive logistics, business and service environment, for which it is necessary to have land public in which these investments can be developed ".

To this question, the councilor for the Treasury, Ximo Segarra, reported that the City Council is contacting the company that was in second position in the tender to notify it that it should take over the work.
