Great joy for the triathlete xabiera, Cristina Roselló, after having managed to be second classified in the VI Nustriport Half of Seville by Zone 3, first stop of the Spanish Cup of Mid Distance Triathlon which had the total participation of 800 triathletes adding the participation of women and men.
Roselló posed very well the test getting to finish with good sensations the first swimming segment. Cycling was where the Xabiera regained positions doing a great job on his bike. After this segment was placed in the second place he knew how to keep in the last test where he ran again with great ease.
The winner of the women's event was the local, Maria Pujol, who finished with an absolute time of 4: 58.39. The second classified was Cristina Roselló, who entered 5 minutes later. The third step of the podium went to the Balearic athlete, Sonia Parente, who finished with a time of 5: 07.50.
Cristina Roselló herself commented to this medium that "I arrived with much desire and good training done, but the weather forecasts discouraged me in the face of the test. I wish they had been wrong but unfortunately it was not like that. "
The weather conditions made the test difficult
Before the start it rained a lot and the temperature dropped a few degrees, so most of the participants chose not to heat the swim segment. La xabiera felt comfortable swimming in the Guadalquivir river but not so much going up to the pantanan, where she came out in the fifth position after completing the 1900 meters.
After making a wet and muddy transition to get the bike, Roselló started to roll feeling very comfortable although the gusts of wind caused some scares, since from km 40 the storm began with heavy rain and thunder, but as that the kilometers were advancing was worsening the time until it began to hail.
Roselló points out that “In life I had had such a bad time, the hail hitting you as the cold and pain of the ice progressed, it was inhuman, just the fact of abandoning passed through my head, I even held a few minutes at a gas station, but I knew I was going in third position and as it is said 'NO PAIN NO GAIN', so I went back to the bike and continue until I finished the 93 kilometers ”.
The xabiera improved the weather with the cessation of rain and got off the bike in third place and took the race segment with good sensations at kilometer 6 and with a good pace finished the 21 kilometers behind the great triathlete, María Pujol . A second place that leaves Cristina Roselló very satisfied, "I am very happy and happy with the result after the great odyssey of this triathlon. And ending with very good feelings."
